Call Fwd Off Net Problem

I have an extension set up to call forward off net to an employee's home in another state. We have long distance account codes so this number was programmed in my Definity (ARS) to strip off the account code. It worked fine.

The employee has changed her home number so I inserted the new number in the ARS and removed her old number. On the actual phone set, I turned off call forwarding to the old number and then entered the call forwarding FAC and the new number. I hear 3 quick tones which tells me the call forwarding took but when I dial her extension it still forwards to the old number which is now disconnected.

Is there another place in my Definity that could be storing this old number?

What am I missing?

Is there something in VM that is set to dial the old number. I used to work with an old Octel system, and the outcalling was setup in there. Good Luck.

Nothing has changed with the voice mail. I can dial her extension and it will forward off net no problem. I get a message saying that the phone number has been disconnected so I know it's getting out of my system. I just can't get the number to change even though I'm redoing the call forward "to" number.
Thanks.

Anyone else?

I tried the trace with the call forwarding off and then on (to the new home number). Both times, I get this....

14:14:44 TRACE COMPLETE station 6405 cid 0x0

Don't know what this means.

status station and see what it says for CF destination.

Status station shows me the new phone number. Everything there looks good. I dialed the new phone number using my cell phone and the call goes through fine. At first I thought her new number wasn't working.

Ok, you know it works from your cell. What happens if you just pick up the phone and dial it manually.

When dialing manually, it doesn't ask for an account code (obviously) but instead of getting her home, I get the recording "this number is no longer in service".

That's the exact recording I get I call her old number. It's like my system is call forwarding the new number to her old number.

Could this be a route pattern problem?

This is what I get:

Location: 1 Partitioned Group Number: 1

Dialed Total Route Call Node
String Min Max Pattern Type Number Locat
171920XXXXX 11 11 p8 fnpa all

The new number came up when I did list ars route ###########.

All of the other information is the exact same as the old number. Same route pattern, same minimum/maximum digits.

Have you looked into ARS digit conversion tables? That might explain why you get the old number form your phone now.

If you find any mistakes, please consider that they are there for a purpose. And everyone needs a purpose.

I went through all of the tables and there is no information in them.

I'll give it a shot...

What version switch?

If the call is routing off-prem and you're tracing the right station the trace should show the forwarding #, the pattern & pref chosen, the trunk group used and member #.

What kind of trunks are you using inbound and out?

Where are you stripping the account code?

Hi Bart,
I have a Definity G3v11.

When I trace the station, it only shows:
15:00:21 TRACE COMPLETE station 6405 cid 0x0
I don't know what this information means but it says the same thing whether I have the extension forwarded or not.

I have 4 PRIs for incoming and outgoing. They are bi-directional.

I'm not an expert with ARS but it is my understanding that the account code is stripped in the ARS table. I have a minimum of 11 digits and a maximum of 11 digits which would be 1719201xxxx. This removes the required account code for a long distance call. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Here's a thought....I did a change coverage remote. I thought I could add a new coverage point and enter the new number as the coverage point. I could then change the coverage path to that coverage point.

When I try to manually enter the new number it tells me "duplicate entry". That's fine, I guess, since I put this number in the ARS. (I'm not certain if there is a connection between the coverage remote table and the ARS table). Anyway, I tried putting the old number as a coverage point and it also told me "duplicate entry".

I don't have the old number in the ARS anymore so I would assume that means it's being stored somewhere else. Just a thought.

Okay,

Let's see if we've got our semantics straight.

Are you using remote call coverage to get the call off-site or call forwarding? If you're getting a "duplicate" response that means that the phone number you're trying to add to the coverage remote screen is already there under a different remote entry.

What's cover path 1 & 2 for this station. Also, give me the points on the coverage path(s).

As far as I know Account Codes can't be "stripped off". If you think about it a call can't even progress if account codes are required and you don't enter enough digits to satisfy the requirement. I don't have an r11 but in my r9.5 account codes can't be validated, only the number of digits is checked.

We'll get there eventually...prayer always helps.

I'm not using remote call coverage, I'm using call forwarding but I was hoping I could bypass the problem by setting up remote call coverage. Didn't work.
I removed the old number from ARS so I shouldn't get a "duplicate" message when I try to enter it in the remote coverage table. Right?
Coverage path 1 is set to our voice mail. I don't have anything for path 2. The only point on path 1 is just our voice mail hunt group.
By putting the entire phone number in ARS I was able to strip off the account code. There maybe another location that I have to enter information to accomplish this but I do know that it can be done.
I just upgraded from v5 or v6 a few months ago and I bypassed account codes before I upgraded to 11.
Thanks for the brainstorming, please keep it coming if you think of anything else.
I'm trying to find another location that this number could be stored.
