Call Forwarding with Caller ID 1

-Voicemail Pro
-5410 digital sets

I am trying to forward an extension to a cell phone and send the caller Id that comes in wiht the call. Is there anyway to send the caller ID information with the call when its forwarded?

It's a setting in the system - twinning tab "send original calling party information" but this must also be supported by your line providor

Just to clarify, it won't work with SIP, Analog or inband T1 trunks.

Thanks, that makes sense, but... I have to use Mobil twinning instead of forwarding.. correct? I have a pro, is there a setting to enable mobil twinning for an extension? It is currently greyed out.

mobile twinning is a licenced feature. It sounds like you don't have a licence for it

you don't need mobile twinning.

For standard call forward use SS in your short code. this forwards original caller id. so, in your example you could say to anyone wanting this to put a *888 or whatever is easy in front of the number,

short code
*888N
Dial Nss
TG 0 or whichever trunk group you use

I have a short code with
Short code: *888N
Feature: Dial
Telephone Number:Nss
Line Group Id: 0

When I place the number *888 then the phone number.which looks like this
*88898754321
-The *888 for the short code
-9 for outside line access
-seven digit number
it rings the extension and will not forward.

In the forwarding tab under the extension I have the forward on busy or no answer checked, and use the field to enter the number.

If I use the number only then It forwards with the main Caller ID and not the actual outside callers ID.
As ususal I am missing one keystroke but after experimenting every way I know I cant get it to forward with a short code in fron of the forwarding number

remove the 9 for the outside line, your *888 shortcode is replacing this. I would however recommend you use maybe an 8 rather than *888, I was just doing that as an example.

OK for the bonus round question...

I want to block calls I am forwarding via Caller ID routing through the system which I am doing now. But because there is so many to enter is there a way to create a data base lookup for caller ID instead of entering them in the ICR (incomming call route)? We have a problem with these bottem feeders soliciting us. (This may be a new thread, I know but thought I would ask)

You would have to enter them into the database anyway, just enter them in Incoming call route instead, what you want is possible using database integration (licence) or by a call flow but neither is less work than ICR really

I guess its the list of numbers growing in the ICR list. It would be easier to keep track of on a data base than in the manager and whenu open the ICR it is a list a mile long.

Is this database integration a difficult install? I'm not afraid of it just want to know what I am facing here.

It's easy if you know what you're doing, doesn't take long at all to set up, but you will have to route all calls through VM to achive this. VM does release them very quickly but if all your VM channels are full callers will just get busy tone back

OK, that makes sense. Then how many channels can VM handle?
I have a 48 channel on a bonded T-1 and it may grow!! kinda a catch 21.
And how many ICR entries can I have? want to get an idea of max capacity before I get there.
