I'll see if I can explain this in enough detail.

Opt81c with Succcession 3.

I got a 3904 phone were using for an operator to answer and transfer calls to the proper people. We have an 800 number set up with a DNIS that points to its extension.

That all works fine and so on...

Now at 8pm they want to be able to forward calls to an automated attendant when the office is closed.

I setup a Message Service (MS) in vmail for Ext. 6900

It has its Thru Dial stuff setup and all works when you dial 6900 from within the building. I also setup an ACDN for Ext. 6900 and set its NCFW to 7000 which is our main vmail line.

Now if I try to use 6900 to Forward to from the 3904 set I get release and try again. But if I dial 6900 as if I am calling it I get my Message Service.

What am I missing that I cant choose to forward that phone to 6900?

Thanks

Ryan

Is 6900 only an ACD que? Set up MS with DN of 3904 set and forward directly to 7000 and see if that works.

You could also try to change your ACD 6900 MWC to YES, if it is not already.

Yes 6900 is just a made up ext. I used for the acd and for the message service.

The Ext. that i used for the DNIS is 2121. so Key 00 on the 3904 is 2121.

If I make the MS DN 2121 wont that not allow her to answer during the day?

This is getting confusing cause there so many spots you have to configure for it all to work together.

She could still answer her phone during the day. The MS would only come into play when calls went to voicemail. Even if you use 6900 to forward to the mail system, callpilot or Mermail, would look for 2121 not 6900 for answer treatment.

does your voice mail port have the ncos needed for that call, as well as a mail class that allows it. another approch, and the one i perfer. if you have a console, and it goes into nights, the an idc table (ld 49) is very clean. you don;t need a day entry, just add a night entry that points to your maxp 1 acd.

reading between the lines? do you voice mail for that app? an acd can ncfw to 9 xxx xxxx, or acod xxx xxxx, works a little cleaner, i always try to use the fewest steps.. the night prompt works on auto=yes trunks

I got it working. I ended up making a new DN for the specific phone there going to use to forward our main line. I setup a message service with that new DN as the Access DN and set the 6900 up as the Message Service DN to that. So instead of the ACD or Phantom that phone has the DN on it. All good now :)

Thanks

Probably a rigged way of doing it but it works
