I have a Mitel 3300 with mostly 5330ip phones.

In one of our offices, one guy wants to work from home, but it supposed to act as the receptionist. So he takes another phone home, and I put a key on it so that it will ring when the main phone rings in the office. But then he wants to take a day off and forward all calls to a different office. So he sets up call forwarding in his home phone. But calls are not forwarded because he is only forwarding his home phone, not the office phone.

I don't think that this is possible, but I am asking anyway: Is there a key I can set up on his home phone that he can use to change the forwarding of the office phone? Could a phone be forwarded with keys/commands entered on another phone?

Thanks,
Jim

Yes you should be able to forward another number on the system using the "Call Forward - Follow Me Third Party" feature code. (and Cancel)
Make sure there is a feature code set and you have the appropriate COS to allow this feature.

You can then program a key using a speed call.
You would then dial {FAC} {extension to forward} {destination number}

Just be aware that if the call is routed to voicemail you will get the original called numbers VM, not the last destinations.
