Our help desk extension is located on telephones at 2 physical locations. Location A is manned from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Location B is manned from 4:30 p.m. to a variable time up to 11:00 p.m. Outside of these hours, the extension is to forward to voice mail.

We need to be able to have Location B send the calls to voice mail when they leave and have Location A cancel the forward to voice mail when they arrive.

Normally this forwarding and cancelling would take place on the MARP'ed set for this extension, but it can't be in both locations.

Any ideas on how to handle this.

This extension is on several telephones.

You should set up a simple ACD, then you can have all the calls forwarded to Voicemail when no one is logged in, when the agent A or B logs in the calls come to them as normal, then you do not have to rely on the person to unforward or forward the lines, they just have to log into their phone.

without acd (which is the best way) you can use rcfw to do that
