Hi all,

I starting a database project that will generate a roster for a musical team on a regular basis. Not a real hard database to design. The first thing obviously is to set up an event, and then select the musicians and technical crew for each event.

What I would like to do however is have the opening form layed out like a monthly calendar where I can choose the month I want from navigation arrows at the top of the screen. When I click on the day, it brings up another form that allows me to add and event. (I can do the rest from there)

I would then like to have this event displayed in that day on the main form.

Does anyone know of a database around that will allw me to start this project and have it look this way? Alternatively, can anyone point me in the right direction for laying out a form to look like a monthly calendar?

Cheers

Dean

You could always use a MonthView control on your form.

Thanks for that. I will look into trying this method. Not quite what I was after, but workable non the less

Not quite what I wanted. I have a calendar control for choosing dates already. What I would like to do is have a form that looks similar to that of an outlook calendar where I can see the events in the date. and when I select the day, It pulls up all of the events on that day in another form.

Couldn't get into your link. Needed a login and password, sorry.

guys, thanks oofr your prompt reply, I hope I explain it a little better on this post. I know these calendars are out there. I do have some similar formats, but none quite like what I'm after and I don't have the programming skills to modify them. If you want to send me your email addresses, I will forward what I have if you like.

Hey, Thanks for your suggestions, They're not quite what I was looking for. I went back through my collection of Databases and found one of the calendar DBs that actually does what I want. I've attached the zip file for you to check it out. I can massage this one to suite what I want to do. Once you see it you'll understand what I was looking for.

My calendar does the following: First you pick a department which would bring up the calendar. Then you double click a date which allows you to enter your event. Then any other department can read the event but not delete it. Only the original department can delete it. Also, if any department has down time that effects others, those dates are highlighted in red with the appropriate affected departments listed. If you would like a copy, see the thread I listed under my post.

fneily,

I went to your previous thread you displayed but could not see any database to download. I'm definitely interested in having a look at yours. Could you attach it here?
