I'm running Windows 98 SE and recently my Microsogf Works Calendar won't print. The print job does't show up in the print queue.

By recently I assume that the calender was printing correctly before, if so do you recall setting up a new application or game that might have interfered with your calendar software. Does the rest of your system appear to be working well ? Does your printer work for other programs ? Did you recently unplug your parallel printer connector in the back for any reason, is this connector pushed in all the way ?

please advise, thanks

System seems to be OK. Recently ran system maintenance program, incl. defrag. Printer seems to work OK for all applications except the MicroSoft Works Calendar. I shut down every thing that starts automatically and that didn't help. I went to Internet Explored 6.0 but no other new programs. Connections are all tight.

wilkca,

When you print, do you click on the printer icon, or do you click on the menu bar: File-Print?

In some programs, clicking on the icon immediately 'issues' a print command to whatever printer it believes configured; going to the menu bar and clicking on File and then Print on the resulting drop-down menu brings you to a dialog window that allows you to point to a specific printer.

It is possible the your Works Calendar has 'lost' the printer that is configured in your system. And you can find this out by doing just what I described: go to the main menu bar, click on File, then on the resulting drop-down menu click Print.

Hope this helps.

I have lost the printer. The drop down box from the menu bar has only the option to print. When I click on thatI don't get the print box. It does't have page set up or print preview like Works Spread Sheet or Word. How do I restore the printer?

Don't panic. I don't have Works Calendar but I suspect what you describe may still be normal. Don't stop at the dialog you are in. You say it only has the print option? Click on that option and see what comes up. If nothing happens then maybe it is time to go check the .ini file for Works and look for where the printer is defined. Or maybe you'd need to go to the registry - and on this I can assure you I know absolutely next to nothing! But if the print dialog comes up, then from that window you may be able to define the printer for your Works Calendar.

Good luck!
