Hello All,

I was wondering if / how you can share a calendar between multiple users. Is this possible? If so, can the calendars be layered (viewing events from multiple calendars in one calendar view), and can the calendars also be displayed on a publicly available website?

So what's the verdict - can Exchange be used as a calendar server or is there something better that I've missed?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

There are a number of way you could share a calender. For a single shared calendar you can add a calendar to your public folder tree and set permissions as you see fit. As an admin right click on your PF root and create new folder, storing Calendar.

You can also make your own calendar available to other users or groups, again granting different rights (view only, modify, enter etc) Right clcik on your calendar, permissions, and set appropriately. Then users would initally go to File>open>other users folder, choose the person and clendar and it will appear. Every one you open is remembered in your Calendar view (Outlook 2003 at least) and you can view multiples if required.

As for a publically available website... that opens up security issues... I cannot comment on what can be used for this. OWA is web based but username and password are required....

hope this helps
