I am trying to create a check register database and I'm having a really tough time figuring out how to calculate my balance. I really need to do this on a form and not a report.

I need for the check register to resort by date whenever a check is entered out of date sequence and update the balance. I know I need to do this with a calculated control but I can't figure out how to get my balance from the previous line.

Thanks,
Laura

p.s. I am in the very beginning stages of creating this database and all I have is a table with transaction date, check number, description, withdrawals, deposits and balance.

Should this all be in one table? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I know this is probably alot simpler than I'm making it but I'm stumped.

Thanks
Laura
