C, D drive contents not appeared

Hello

I have a strange issue when I click on C or D drive the program list appears.Not driver's contents.
The only thing that make me suspicious is that this started to happen after I used a frinds USB pen on my pc.
I tried to clean hard disk with Malware bytes or Windows live care but without luck. Whatever it is , it is still roaming my hard disk.

Any opinion or help for that is welcomed.

See if System Restore will revert you back to before your trouble.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?). See if you have the same problem from Normal Mode if you logon as another user.

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

As you can see it is the same list that appears when system cannot find appropriate program for a file.

OK, I've seen this before. Can't recall the cure - it might have been replacing explorer.exe with a copy from another machine or it might have been changing the Open action.

In folder options, can you try restoring defaults? If not, you could try system restore.

That is usually virus related, or the aftermath of having removed a virus. I'll second the Hijackthis suggestion. Maybe an online Virus scan can work also.

Finally, if you feel comfortable with the registry you can try this:

When you show hidden and system files in Folder Options/ View, do you see a file called Autorun.inf in the root of those drives?

If you do then delete the said file.

Looks like he can't even get that far though using a command prompt might help in this instance.

Perhaps a right-click and selecting "Open" on the drive icon might work, or as you say a Command Prompt, then there is the Recovery Console, or maybe even this Registry hack?
