I got Windows XP Pro both at home and at the office. However, the Status Dialog for my network connection at work shows the traffic in bytes while the one at home shows in packets. How can I change the home system to also show the traffic in bytes (I don't know what a packet is)?

Thanks

a packet is made up of a number of bytes (8 i think)

In XP Pro you could Start, Run, perfmon.msc and report on bytes using Perfmon by adding a new counter.

just be sure you keep an eye on the bytes contained in the packets, there-in lie the mischeievious[bigcheeks]

i.e. firewall, virus scanner, spyware/malware blockers & all kept up to date!
