Bypassing network login to get to workstation only 2

Hi all-
Have Winnt with Novell 4.2 Service PAck 2.
I recently ran an .exe from Novell site called Autologin.exe because the novell client would not let the user (who has no password) login with 'hitting the enter key' to select logging in.
Autologin works great, however, now - we've swithced our network servers that were bound by IPX to bound by IP...

Since then, the client cannot find the tree or server, because we have to set the client properties to act as such.

The problem is, that the login window gives no option to get to workstation only, and attempts to login the network, which fails, and we get as far as the "about" screen for winnt. So - we cannot get in change the way it is bound to the network.
Does anyone know how to get into the workstation only without trying to autologin to the network first?

Firstly, NetWare 4.x servers will not communicate via IP with workstations, they need IPX enabled.

Secondly, in the registry under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon

there will be a key called "AutoAdminLogin". Change the value from a 1 to a 0 and this will disable Auto Login.

Thirdly, in the Novell Client Properties under the Advanced Login section, there will be a tick box for Workstation Only. Put a tick in the box to enable the tick box on the login screen.

I could not find the tick box you are speaking of..

I cannot even get into Windows once the client fails to log into the newtwork...

Any other suggestions?

To be more specific, it is a Novell 6.0 server and a Winnt 4.0 Workstation with 4.8.3 client..

Here is a novel idea; re-enable IPX on the netware server, log the workstation in, make the changes you need to make, then disable IPX on the server. The server can run both IPX and IP at the same time.

Remember, if you have to add IP to the workstation, then you will need to bind the NetWare client to IP on the workstation also. Just by enabling IP will not do this. The easiest was to do this is to just reinstall the client.
