i am running into an issue where the users are getting busy signals sometimes when they try to transfer to a hunt group, make a call or even when the receptionist tries to transfer. I had a pri down that day but plenty of available trunks still. Does anyone know what could be causing this. thanks.

Maybe the cue for that hunt group was full. Do 'display hunt xx' and see how many cue spots u have and whether u have coverage for the hunt group. There is problabaly a 'list measurements hunt' or 'monitor hunt' command that will show what is going on with the hunt group.

Make sure you have enough tone board and call classifier resources available.

Statements expressed in this post are my own opinions and should not be considered as the opinion of my employer.

hey the queue is 99 deep. The thing is that we have the same amount of traffic everyday but this only happens sometimes. What is the current traffic to tone board, call classifer ports that i need? i currently have a tn2182b tone clock. How do i know if i need additional cards or a call classifer card

I had a similar problem with a trunk group that became busy at certain times of the day...you said you had a PRI down. Check you routing, I had no other trunk groups listed for my busy trunk route so that when calls were being made (in or out) on the busy trunk they were blocked. I added trunk group 2 and 3 to my route pattern for trunk 1 (the busy one) so that when it becomes busy the calls will now roll to 2 and 3. Just a thought...

hey i'm kinda new to this. How did you program the failover. Thanks. also the busy comes when you pick up the handset not after you dial the number i don't think it's a trunk issue. All my pri's are back up now. thanks.

Sorry didn't know the busy was immediate! I'm pretty much a newbie too but this is what I did for the routing:
list ars ana, look for the route pattern that you are wanting to work with. List route will show you all of your route patterns and which trunk they hit in order. In my case my local was route pattern 4 and it was set (back in the day) to only go to trunk 1 so then I cha route 4 and added 2 and 3 so that the call will go trunk 1 then 2 then 3. Now when I list route, route 4 shows 1 then 2 then 3 under trk grp. A really helpful Avaya tech sent me a prefix doc if you want it I can e-mail it to you.
