Just installed a new IP500v2 to replace my BCM500.

The PRI works fine on the BCM500.

Whenever an outgoing call is dialed on the IP500 with the PRI attached to it, once the dialing is complete, I get a busy signal; regardless of what number is dialed.

IP500 has 1 card in it, a DS(1-8)with a PRI 1U daughter board. The PRI settings on the IP500 where set to match those in the BCM:

Line SubType - PRI
Switch Type - NI2
Framing - ESF
Zero Suppression - B8ZS
Line Signaling - CPE
Incoming Routing Digits - 7

All 23 channels were switched to "In Service".
2 addition 8 port PRI licenses are installed.

Local provider is AT&T

Once call has been dialed, looking at the System Status, it shows that for Channel 23,
Current State = "Outgoing Alerting"
Caller ID or Dialed Digits shows the 10 digit number that was dialed.
Direction of Call shows Outgoing
This display will show for about 30 secs. and then clear.

Pulling my hair out and would greatly appreciate a push in the right direction. Thanks.

Thanks very much. I will post the logs this evening. Can't generate until then due to fact that I can't take PRI down from the BCM500 during business hours.

Add the following line to the no user source number.

NI2_CALLED_PARTY_TYPE=UNKNOWN

The two things I would check:

1) As 1043 stated, make sure the No User has source code NI2_CALLED_PARTY_TYPE=UNKNOWN. By default, the IPO sends it out as National and some providers do not like this.

2) If that doesn't work, make sure the number you are sending out via your ARS is acceptable to your provider. If you are sending something they do not like, they will reject the call.

On provider option on PRI 24 line tab, if you set to AT&T then you could set call per call and special tab parameter to get it working . When in doubt, request AT&T to do a call trap and to see what AT&T is seeing from your side.

You guys are fantastic. The source code "NI2_CALLED_PARTY_TYPE=UNKNOWN" fixed the problem. Outgoing calls are now being processed flawlessly. Will do the cut over tomorrow night. Thank you very much.
