Hello,

We have developed Business Objects reports for end-users and I have an issue printing these reports. Due to the licensing cost and number of users I cannot provide these reports in Business Objects itself. So far we have published the reports in HTML format.

However, in IE5 and IE6 we don't have the option to "fit to 1 page wide" and so lose several columns of the report when trying to print.

Unfortunately we are running BO v 5.0.3 and therefore do not have the "save as PDF" option which I think would solve our printing problem. Also the HTML that Business Objects generates is quite ugly so I am reluctant to try and manipulate the HTML to provide us with a "Print Friendly" version of the report.

These are canned reports and due to their size need to be sent through the broadcast agent and refreshed overnight, I also have to publish them, so I do not want to take any manual steps to solve the problem.

I think I have the following options:

1. Upgrade Business Objects to 5.1.2 (which is my next available upgrade, I have to upgrade business objects with several other installations and do not control the management of the upgrade) which will give me the PDF option

2. Try to customize the HTML to give us a "Print Friendly version".

3. Redevelop the reports in BQExcel. I'd have to work out how to format these reports programmatically.

4. Publish the reports to WebIntelligence, but I'm pretty sure this involves licensing issues but am not too familiar with the actual difference between licensing WebIntelligence vs Business Objects reporter for end-users.

If anyone has any help or advise I would much appreciate it.

Thanks,

Max.

I think you can upgrade direcly to 5.1.3 or .4 and solve lot of headache.
the other methods are not foolproof any might turn costly in the long run
