Business Object (thick client ) reporting over XL Data source

You can't. With and XL data provider, you're not running a query. You're importing the whole spreadsheet.
If you want it to act like a real query, then you need to build an ODBC data source with the spreadsheet as the "database".

I believe there is a topic over there that describes how to do this.
