I have to make a little flash animation for a website where i will have photo A burn out to reveal Photo B. I don't think I need "real" flames, but maybe something like big black dots?

Does anyone have any suggestions for me to get started. I don't know that much about masks, but assume that is how i do it?

Thanks

i assume by 'big black dots', you are refering to the carbonisation that would occur if you burnt a photo from the back.

you make a maske by making a new layer above the layer you want to add a mask to; right clicking on the new layers name; then selecting 'mask'. you will now only see content, where there is something on you mask layer. try clicking the padlocks on and off on your mask and the layer it is masking, to switch the mask on and off in design view (it'll still be on when published).

i suggest you place photo b above photo a, and use the mask to make it appear (rather than making photo a dissapear), i think you'll find that mask easier to animate (basicly circles getting bigger)

Thanks! I will try that today.

If any other ideas pop in your head or if you see any samples like the ones you can download off of flashkit, I would be open to that too.

Thanks a bunch.
