We're about 1300 users deep in a new deployment (forklift replacement) and have noticed a few DNs (20 or so) showing up in the Bulk Unassigned Directory Numbers. Most (but not all) of these are "special" numbers, i.e., softkey DNs that appear only as a line appearance on 1 or more instruments but have no assigned end user - they're just some utility numbers, may have a tollfree pointed at them, etc. Also a few are individual stations we've installed manually (without using the BAT tool) - not a lot of them. Looking under Call Routing - Directory Number some are showing up there twice. Any ideas?

Here's the deal on unassigned. Those are numbers that were once configured but then deleted for some reason. The ones that show twice, if you pay close attention you'll notice that one will have a device assigned to them and the other one will not. The device can be a RP, phone, etc.
The unassigned one can be the wrong partition that someone corrected later, therefore putting the original into the unassigned DN.
This is built in for safety among other reasons. Say you delete a DN by accident, you can go back and find it in the unassigned portion and bring it back to life instead of reconfiguring the whole thing.

If they confuse you go ahead and delete them otherwise don't worry about it.
