Building apps to a different directory ...always

I have a project sitting in c:\vfp (say) and when I build it, I always want the resulting app to go onto our network (m:\projects\it\visual foxpro\accoutancy\v6\Nov\project.app)

When I go to build the app, obviously, it brings up the current 'home' directory of the project, and I have to manually double click down through each directory until I reach my destination (go to M, double click on 'projects', double click on 'it', double click on 'visual foxpro', etc, etc).

If you change the target directory of a VB executable, it's saved to the project, so you don't have to keep updating it. Is there any such thing in VFP? I'm using v6.

What you can do is to use a project hook (see MSDN), in the afterbuild() event, you can move your app to a predefined destination, so you won't have to select the directory every time you make a build.

My private project:CrownBase source code can be downloaded !!

If you use the BUILD APP command you can do what you want directly.

Thanks Jim. I've now written a small prg which works everything out from a passed parameter and builds the app as per your suggestion.

A loooot easier :)
