This problem has been killing me. I have an AMD Athlon 1.4GHZ machine with
512MB memory, 2 40 GB Ultra ATA 100 HD's running off the motherboard ultra
ata connections. A TDK 24X Velocd rewriter, a 56X Soundblaster CD Reader, a
fortissimo sound card, an ATI All in wonder Radeon video card. Windows 2000
Pro installed with SP2, and all patches.

It seems like at least 2 to 3 times a day, the machine will just
automatically reboot. The error displayed in Event Viewer is:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e
(0xc0000005, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000
[v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini081901-02.dmp.

I have read through all the help at Microsoft, and it mentions a possible
hardware failure. I have tried swapping memomy, vid, sound, usb devices,
with no luck.

Can anyone please give me some help. It's a screaming machine, but it keeps
doing this stupid thing.

I too, have been having this problem in the last few weeks. I have swapped out motherboards (my son has the same MB on his PC), changed memory, added memory, changed drives from UDMA to normal and back, reloaded Win2k over my current install. Nothing seems to work. The only thing I have not done is replace the hard drive or processor. Errors were first being generated by ntoskrnl now from Win32k.sys. Anyone know what might be going on?
