The browseui.dll is a component that contains functions and resources for browser UI manegement. I've seen it not allow browsers to pull up, but not windows. Are you able to get into safe mode? If so, here are a couple steps you can try:

1. Download a good copy of the browseui.dll from HERE
2. Copy it to your system32 folder within the Windows folder.
3. Restart the computer and see if that resolves the issue

or

1. Try restoring your computer to an earlier time and see if that resolves it.

Does the same thing in safe mode. black screen with safe mode in each corner, then nothing else. I can hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and get task manager up, but when I go to system restore the calander to pick a date is empty.....

Are you getting the taskbar? If so...type the following into the Run command:

regsvr32 browseui.dll

And then hit enter. That will register the dll file in case for some reason it didn't register itself.

Have you recently installed any updates, programs, etc? since this started happening?

I can get to the run command. I will try that. I did not install anything. I was on the computer Friday night. I shut it down, and when I turned it on Saturday morning it started this. Thank you for your help.

Make sure you restart the computer again after running that command.

Ok heres the deal now. I downloaded the Browserui.dll. By some miracle I remembered how to copy a file over in DOS, but thats another story. The computer booted up in windows, and everything looked good. UNTIL!! Now I cannot type anything in a login screen or search. For example. If I go to Google and click in the search block it will not let me type anything. If I have a website that I need to log into. wont let me type a password, or ID. Also about 30% of the time when I restart, as the computer is shutting down windows I get a message that says something like PARTBA.EXE or DLL something like that. It goes away to fast for me to read it. I looked through the list of DLL to download, and cannot find anything like this...HELP ME!!!
