Browser Timesout

I am having some trouble with an update. I am using CF to update some records in the database but since the number of records is to great, IE times out. How can have some sort of status screen showing "10 records processed, 20 records processed, etc."

you could log it ...

for example,
you could put something like this in your big update loop:

<cfset Every_n_Records=10>

<cfif NOT counter MOD #Every_n_Records#>
<cffile action=&quot;append&quot; file=&quot;c:\logfile.log&quot; output=&quot;#counter# records&quot; addnewline=&quot;no&quot;>
</cfif>

If you're just updating records, maybe write some custom SQL that you can execute directly instead of embedding that SQL in a CFM template and executing it from a browser.

Do you have direct query access to your DB ?

Also, just how many records are being updated?
