Hi guys, I have recently started experiencing problems with a W2K server.
I have noticed that every minute an event is logged in the Event Log that reads:

'Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MRxSmb
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8005
Date: 23/09/2004
Time: 12:08:40
User: N/A
Computer: NW-DATA-STORE1
Description:
The browser has received a server announcement indicating that the computer NW-DATA-STORE1 is a master browser, but this computer is not a master browser.

I have visited the Microsoft site and they recommend re-booting the server. I have done this but the problem remains un-solved.
I have checked our network and there are no IP conflicts.
Can someone please help as the event log is reaching a ridiculuous size.
Thanks guys.

How can you prevent a machine from thinking it is the master browser??? I do not know how the server has promoted itself to this???
