thanks for your response. I hope the following info is enough, if not tell me what else is needed.
The back of the router has the following:
1 - 15 pin AUI
2 - 60 pin serial ports marked serial 0 & 1
1 - rj45 marked console
1 - rj45 marked AUX
1 - on/off switch
I also have the following equipment.
1 - CentreCOM 210TS, Allied Telesyn converts AUI to rj45
2 - 60 pin to 60 pin serial cable
1 - cross over cable
1 - console cable.
If it helps I have a total of three of the above configuration
I also have a cisco 1900 switch, if that would make this process easier.
The reason I have all this is am am about to start the process of obtaining my CCNA. I have just begun and I thought with all of this equipment I should be able to create a network to share the cable broadband and also share it wirelessly
I don't have much info on this but I have 3 2501 routers and a 1924 switch and I have one of the routers connected to my cable modem getting ip and dns through dhcp. So far it works. I don't know if I could totally explain how I made it happen. I am very new to Cisco products. I am about to start studying for CCNA myself. Hope this helps. If I can help in any way just ask.
Yes, that does help and gives me hope. Does the description of my router match your? If so it would a great help if you could give more info on how you set the router up
If you want you can email me robbym627 at insightbb.com with a description of your setup and we can compare it to mine and see what we can come up with. It would help me to learn as well.
