Brightstore Agent Backups Slow

We are backing up several servers with the 2000 Agent using BS 9. Some our devices are using the BS9 build 2030 agent, some are using the BS9 build 2020 agent, and others are using the AS2000 build 1050 agent.

We have a few machines that were using the BS9 2020/2030 agents that were backing up super slow. (under 20mb/min). The rest of our servers are backing up in the 200-500mb/min range. When we removed the BS9 agent and downgraded to the AS2000 agent the backups speeds increased dramatically to about 400mb/min.

Any ideas (Other than keep using the old agent)

Try modifying the backup priority either lower or higher.
If these are dual NIC systems try setting to use the other NIC.

I think BS 9.0 works best with the 2020 agent. BS 9.01 works best with the 2030 agent. You can download the update to bring you up to 9.01. Also BS 11 was released this past Monday. I downloaded the new version (11) and will upgrad one of my BS 9.0 servers to test. I'll let everyone know how it's working.

in all machines since the best way to start troubleshoot this problem to to be on same build.

2- Are you sure you are doing backup fom backup agent not from Network? if you are doing it from Bakcup agent then try to do it from Network and compare the througthput you are getting.

3-Are you sure there is activiy was running when done the backup with BAB 9.0?

4-Are there any applications installed on the those machines?

Thanks for the suggestions; but the only variable I change to make it work is the older agent. Which should rule out any type of utilization, network interface, priority, etc.

My goal would be to have everything running at the same level, but on some of my servers the newer agents are exceptionally slow.
