I see a couple of other entries on this topic, but they didn't help me. I have a backup job that shows that it completed successfully. But when I try to restore one of the files or folders, I get the "invalid file header signature" E3802 error. I applied fix QO54883, but that didn't help either. Could there be anything else that would cause this error? It shouldn't be the append error fix either, because we overwrite on our backup jobs.

Thanks,

Mike

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that even though the backup job completed successfully, during the verify portion of the job I got a "E3713 Unable to read from media. (MEDIA=M, EC=CONTROLLER FAILURE OR HARDWARE FAILURE)" message. I can't find much of anything on that error either.

What version of ARCserve are you running, and what patch level are you running? The fix you mention relates to r11.0. If it is this version you have - apply the update to r11.1, r11.1 SP1 and the latest added device support patch and try again.

Right! I totally forgot to put the version and patch level in my post. We're running version 11.0 build 2670. I'll take your advice and give it a go. Thanks!
