I'm trying to run a remote script to close a db before backup with BrightStor ArcServe 11.5.My install is on a Win2003 Srv and my client being a Solaris 10 box. I have configured the uag.cfg file but when I run the backup job it does not run my script on the Solaris box.My script works when run on the Sol10 box but I can't get Arcserve to run it. No errors just does not run. I have the docs for modifying the uag.cfg file but can't seem to make it work. Any help would be great.

I would like to add: Do I use agent.cfg or uag.cfg to run my remote script?

You use the uag.cfg file to run the pre/post scripts.
Add lines as needed:
-Prebackup /<path>/filename
-Postbackup /<path>/filename

I have edited the uag.cfg on the client box. My understanding is that the uag.cfg file will be scanned when a job is submitted. Is there more to running scripts on the client boxes or must it be my syntax. Also the Pre/Post Global Options run on the host box only. Thanks

If you configure a pre/post on the client agent it will run everytime a backup job is run of that box. pre/post configured in the backup job relates to the host server only.

I just can't get the scropt to run. I have the uag.cfg file edited with -Prebackup <my_script>. The backup runs on the Solaris 10 box but not my_script, no errors, just nothing.

Thanks I was able to get the script to run from uag.cfg. Now my issue is uag.cfg gets run everytime a job runs on the box, however,I backup different volumes on the same server at different times and want different scripts to run for different volumes. For example I can't close customer databases every time I run a job on a server. How can I do this?
