BrightStor ARCserve 11.1 with ARCserve 2000 agents

Hi all, need advices from all,

Currently my customer has ARCserve 2000 Backup Environment.And he decided to have BrighStor ARCserve v11.1 install on a new server with DELL PV 122T auotloader.

Currently, the below servers have ARCserve 2000 agents installed.

1) MS SQL database on one IBM server
2) Domain Controller/File and Print Server/Backup DNS Server on one IBM server (current file server)
3) Norton Server / DNS / Wins / BDC on one IBM server
4) Main DNS Server/WINS Server/Web Server/DMC/IIS/mySQL for Intranet and internet

All server O/S are W2K.

Pls advice can BrightStor ARCserve 11.1 backup the aboved servers that using the ARCserve 2000 agents.
Or
All the ARCserve 2000 agents to upgrade to BrightStor ARCserve 11.1 agent?

Hi Rolman,
The BrightStor ARCserve 11.1 Getting Started guide says that you can back up using the agents from older versions of BrightStor ARCserve Backup, but all of the "older versions" it mentions are newer than ARCserve 2000 (which it doesn't mention). Personally, I'd upgrade the agents, but take a look at the manuals to see what they say.

Hi elanor, thx for ur advice.

I have adviced my customer to upgrade all the agents to version 11. There shldn't be a problem anymore.
