Hey guys, I have a problem. We have a Cisco gigabit switch that I've assigned an IP address of 147.31.103.71. The problem we're having is that when traffic from another subnet (147.31.13.xx) hits the switch, it's forwarding it out to the gateway router, which then sends it BACK to the switch and then to it's destination.
The connection is working, but I'd like to prevent the switch from sending traffic from the 13.xx subnet to the router. Is there a way to bridge the two subnets? Because it's causing an enormous amount of latency (the link to the router is only 100Mb/s) and unneccessary work for the router.
The old switch that was installed did not have any ip address or gateway ip assigned. Could this be the problem?
