Breaking trust relationship with non-existent domain!

I have an established trust relationship between two domains CENTRAL and BOE. The domain CENTRAL is defunct now -- server died some time ago. Now I need to break the trust relationships between these two servers. I think this relationship is causing problems with the RPC starting and this causes other problems?

If I go into User Administration/Policies/Trust Relationships, I can remove the trust relationships. But they seem to come back!
