Odd problem this.
I came across it a while back at a previous company I worked for. It has just come up again in a conversation with an artworker at my present employment.

Basically a document is created on Mac A.
This documetn is then opened and worked on on Mac B.
When the document is re-opened on Mac A, sometimes the stacking order of some of the boxes has changed. i.e. Some things are now behind things they were previously in front of.

The machines I was dealing with at the time were running the same versions of quark (4.11), with the same extensions (QX Effects iirc). The fact that QX Effects has a layering tool made me think perhaps it was something to do with that. Though we never used this tool. I did some tests but never found a solution.

Anyone come across this apparently rare problem?
Better still, can someone tell me what causes it?

my bad.. the layering tool is in QX Tools ;-)

Foamcow,
I too have seen this problem at a previous company.
I'm pretty sure that it is related to the QX Tools layering XT. Although from what I remember, it usually happened if one computer had the extension and one computer didn't. The only thing that I can tell you is to make sure the same steps are followed on every computer. If you start out using the QX tools extension then make sure that you use the extension on all computers. Even if you don't change any layering aspects, if you open a file that has used the QX Tools on a computer that isn't using it and resave, then you will have problems.
Sorry that I can't be of more help.
Dave
