Border around individual cells in Excel

I have MS Office 2000 Pro.

Each time I enter a value into an Excel cell, a border appears around that individual cell.

I've tried checking all the options under 'Format Cells' - but none of them make any difference. It's very annoying!

Does anyone know how to resolve?

Is this is a NEW worksheet, or in an existing worksheet?

If it's existing, check Format/Conditional Formatting...

It happens on all Worksheets - new & existing.

I checked under Formatting/Conditional Formattiong, and there is no format set

Is there anything else I can check?

Does the border remain when you select a different cell?

Yes, if I type a value in a given cell, the border appears around it. When I move to a different cell, the border on the previous cell remains.

Right click the sheet tab and select View Code

Select in the Code Window,

Edit/Find

Enter sub and select the Current Project Option Button.

Does it FIND anytnhing?

Under menu option format then style, what is the style name and what do you have for the borders option?

[Blue]Blue[/Blue] [Dragon]

If I wasn't Blue, I would just be a Dragon...

Style is 'normal', and Borders is 'No Border'

Check whether you have any file as Book.xlt inside your XLStart folder. That file is used as template file while creating new excel document.
You can find the XLStart folder at:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user_name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

Do the borders appear in print preview or they appear only on screen?
Do the borders appear in print-out?
Do they appear when you make Gridlines 'Off' in Tools->Options->View Tag.
Check the Gridline colour option too. Set it to Automatic (black).

If I view the file in 'Print Preview' the border disapeers!

If you hold the cursor over the cell do you get a comment box show up? If so, you have track changes under Tools checked.

If not, no idea.

That means you have some format set for Gridlines...

What about other questions?
Did you check those all options given above in my previous post?
