I have picked up a Compac Armada 1700 with no internal cdrom in it, or windows programmed. I have an external cdrom which plugs into the printer port, i can boot it up of a start up floppy but i need help to get it to recognise the external cdrom.

it is a freecom portable CDRW, using a parallel port connection
