All,

I am working on a Redhat Linux Server that is not booting and giving me some errors like this one (there are about three):

Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted
in short read while reading block 525

I have done some research on it on the Internet and have tried to run fsck and I am still getting the same errors.

The server is a file server that had not been rebooted in a while and I couldn't access the system and rebooted it.

Thanks for the info.

Erik

Sounds like a hardware/disk problem to me.

Unfortunately this could be an actual honest-to-goodness hardware failure of some sort on the disk, which would also explain why you needed to reboot the server.

That's what I was afraid of. Well, thanks for your opinion.
