Books on assembly for beginners.............

I can't seem to pin point any solid books om assembly ANYWHERE. I heard The Waite Group's Microsoft MacRo Assembler Bible was an excellent books for beginners but unfortunately it's out of print. I need a solid assembler book that covers everything in good detail and will get me a solid start. any ideas? I have NO clue about assmbler coding or how it wokrs

Unfortunately, there are few books left that actually still discuss assembly language... if you're willing to jump into Win32 programming directly I would recommend win32asm.cjb.net otherwise an old book which you *might* get at a second-hand bookstore... better have a look through it though... "Information has a tendency to be free. Which means someone will always tell you something you don't want to know."

and perform a search using 'assembly tutorial' and you will get a very large list of sites which discuss assembly. Find one that is useful to you. Some sites may have downloadable manuals in pdf file format which you can print. the FAQ here has some downloadable manuals in 'technical references' but these are for when you get a little better.

A good and hefty read is "Art of Assembly"; it's a college text, with basic theory and code. Best of all it's free. Check out
