I'm new to Oracle and need to bone up quickly due to a new job assignment. I've been charged with backing up an Oracle 9i database running on Linux, and I'm looking for some good reference books on starting/stopping/checking consistency, etc. on the database. I've found a couple of books on Amazon.com: "Oracle 9i: The Complete Reference", by Kevin Loney, and "A Guide to Oracle 9i" by Joline Morrison. Can anyone recommend these books, or others, to help me get a grip on Oracle. I don't think I'll need to learn to build databases or applications, so I just need the basic admin stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike
