Our company is new to BO and Crystal so this is a Very basic question...

I want to create a new Crystal Reports XI report, using various functions (parameters, etc.), and then save it to the BO XI Repository. The user then will pull up the new report via the Web -

Question - will all the functions work on the new report when viewed by the customer via the BO XI repository? They would not have Crystal Reports XI on their PC.

Any report written in Crystal XI will run in BO XI

If you have BO Enterprise, then the user will be able to view the reports using BO Infoview. You will need to determine how the user will log into BOE and the authentication to use. In our environment, our internal users are authenticated through Windows AD while my external users are authentication through Enterprise. Once inside of Infoview, additional group security determines who can see or run any given report.

Re: Infoview

Are logins limited by licenses of Crystal Reports/Server or is it umlimited users?

The number of people who can design reports is limited by the number of Crystal Developer licenses.

The number of people who can view and run reports is limited by the type of licensing you have BOE - this is complicated and you need to talk to a sales person about it.

The Crystal Reports Server (kid of like a mini-BOE that only runs Crystal reports) that comes with the Developer edition of Crystal XI has 5 concurrent user licenses. You should check the information on the BO website ( but I believe you can purchase up to 100 concurrent user licenses for it.
