BO 6.5 csv/Excel Save As Question

BO Version 6.5, client side report.

In 5.x when you did a "Save As" to csv, the result would be column headers and detail data lines. 6.5 is not the same. In 5.x the resulting csv could be easily imported to Excel and the data was easy to sort/manipulate. In 6.5 it's not the same. First of all we have been unable to identify a csv "Save As" function and when we export to Excel, there is an additional amount of formatting that has been added to the cells.

Does anyone know how to do a generic save as to csv, that will produce only the header and detail records?

Thanx in advance.

Are you trying to export the dataset from the dataprovider, or saving the report itself?
Should be fairly easy to save the document itself as an Excel file with all 6 versions...

I'm trying to save from the report itself. The report saves ok to Excel, it's just that BO formats the cells in a way that makes it harder for the end users to slice and dice the Excel document. The way BO 5.x did it, the data was very clean. Basically, it exported it to a .csv and then the user opened the report in Excel. Very simple document, header and data, no formatting. I beleive if I could figure out the .csv save, we'd be good to go. When we select save, we are not presented with the .csv save option. Thank you for your response.

Maybe a better question would be...

Is there anyway to disable the formatting options for the save as Excel?

Don't know. The whole point is to KEEP the formatting in the export to Excel. (added functionality)
On the other hand, a simple piece of VBA in Excel will remove the formatting as well...
