When I copy my storage folders/subfolders/docs from my 5.1.7 server to my 6.5 server some people's personal docs mess up and their title is changed from a normal title to something like 0000000521.wqy.
Anybody know anything about this???

Thanks!

The default extension for a 6.5 Webi document is wid not wqy and the names of the files are as you suggest above (numerical) rather than the true name of the saved file.

I am not sure you can do the transfer you suggest above sucessfully.

What is supposed to happen is that you copy to the 6.5 server and once you open/save the wqy it gets converted to a wid. I don't know why some of my docs aren't coming over correctly. Thanks....

I believe it has to do with impatience. If you don't wait for BO to fully convert the directory, it will mess it up.

We had this problem. We had to tell users who were using the system for the first time to wait until it completed the conversion before clicking on anything.

Keep in mind that the files SHOULD be renamed to a goofy numbering scheme. The index.dat file holds the cross reference.

I think you were right about the impatience...

Thanks!
