BMP Image not displayed (Blob Field) but only on some machines!

Hi,

I'm having a problem with Crystal Reports 8.5 not displaying BMP images in Blob fields. The real problem is - it works on some client machines and not others. I'm stumped, some Windows 2000 boxes are fine, others aren't.

I've read the posts on Tek-Tip and can confirm that they are BMPs and not GIFs. They are stored to the SQL 7 database fine (as they display on some pcs) and yet on others all I get is an empty area (in the preview), which when clicked on displays "Blob".

Any help greatly appreciated.

There's a number of troubleshooting questions to ask here:

How are you viewing the reports? In CE or in Crystal Reports Designer?

If you're viewing the reports in Designer, is it the same .rpt object or unique reports per machine?

Do all machines have the same version of CR 8.5? Have any patches been applied to any of the machines? Blob objects, in my experience, have been adversely affected by a few patches - especially ones that deal with memo fields.
