I know the docs say 1 BM32 per 1616 but has anyone tried to add more than 1? On the back it looks like you can chain them together.

Docs have been wrong before.
 
In my IPO R42 Matrix it says that you can connect up to 2 button modules to a single 1616 phone. The total number of button modules supported on one IP Office system is 16.

Yo ucan connect 2 bm32 to one phone !

Out of 4.2.4 GA tech bulletin so it says 1700 !

o Supported on 1716 only
o 16 x BM 32 units maximum on any IP Office
o Maximum of 2 x BM32 to 1 x IP 1716 (requires Mains Adaptor to 1716)

On marketing tools website it says differently. This is exiting news as I will be using this for all my operator positions from now on.
 
Indeed the Marketingtools says different, but it's also in the Manager Help file.
Don't forget to upgrade the BM32's

Support for 1600 Series Phones and BM32 Modules

Correction - Updated in Manager Manual (Issue 22q), IP Office Installation Manual (Issue 19k), IP Phone Installation (Issue 14g) and Product Description (Issue 18l) - 29th October 2008

In line with the IP Office 4.2 Q4 2008 maintenance release these manuals have been updated as follows: • Support for 1700 Series phones has been changed to 1600 Series phones (1603, 1608, 1616 and BM32).
• Support for the BM32 has been changed to 1 per 1616 up to a maximum of 16 on the whole IP Office system.
