Hi,

I installed WinDVD 30-day trail on my W2K professional system. At the enmd of install OS gave a Blue Screen and since I have not been able to boot.

I get a STOP 01E (I think the msg stays for < 1sec on screen)msg at the end of the stratup screen when the blue bar has reached to the right.

I've tried to boot recovery console and ran the "auto fix" whihc replaced approx 10 files in System32 but OS will still not boot.

Any ideas/comments on which OS files to replace (in recovery console I have access to i386 but I'd rather not re-install W2K and loose all my programs/settings/etc)

Are you able to see the file that crashes the system (*.sys or something)? Well, it might help... Try to boot the system with bootable NTFSBootdisks (e.g. NTFSDOS-Pro) and after changing to the directory the crashing file is installed in, rename the extensions of the file. I rescued a lot of Clients (and Users) on that way...

Hi,

I finally found a workaround to the porblem:

1) Boot (from Floppy) in recovery mode
2) Disable the following services 'disable xxx'
cdudf
cd4vsc
cdpwrd
(I might remember the names wrong but list all services by doing 'listsvc')

The above is also on Microsofts knowledgeDb - serach for cdudf and/or Easy CDCreator
