Blue Screen - Re-dates folders

Hi,

Can Windows 2003 server re-dates folders when it had a blue screen? Our server re-started for no apparent reason (my guess it had blue screen) and re-dates folders. Symantec has told me that operating system can re-dates folder when it had blue screened. Is this true? I cannot find any articles, documentation, or anything about this.
