History: XP Pro, Asus socket370 133mhz,pIII 667, 512mb,64mb ati,sound blaster,100/10 lan,40x cd-rw,... Loading via online Norton's Internet Security, system now reboots on it's own. I arrive and now shell32.dll & msgina.dll errors don't allow windows to load at all, no safe mode! System disk Auto Recovery errors out, rewrite system file does not work, format and clean load and still BSOD: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA bunch of other garb and ***setupdd.sys-address error. Can't view file structure via boot disk I created with laptop's xp pro. Internet search seems to point to obivious conflict in memory but a fix when I can't access OS? I will try and remove the newly added wireless mouse & keyboard as noted in BSOD error message and hope at least the xp recovery will work. Any other ideas?

With no operating system your opportunities are limited.

To check RAM via self made bootable floppies start here -

The same type of bootable floppy diagnostic software is available from your hard drive manufacturer which will thoroughly check your hard drive.

Recovery Console requires a Window installation to be loaded.

When you try to format and re-install make sure any Bios virus scanner is disabled and remove any USB devices beforehand.

....format and clean load and still BSOD: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA bunch of other garb and ***setupdd.sys-address error."

Unless you are willing to swear on your Mother's grave that:

. I removed all USB devices prior to the step quoted above;
. It still did not work after checking for any upgrades to my system;
. There are after following Forum member linney's advice above that there are no memory issues;

Replace the computer motherboard. Save the working pieces and rebuild the machine.

Tried replacing wireless keyboard as noted via BSOD error message, computer would not recognize any but the wireless, system bios checks one beep then "no keyboard found". This with known good keyboard. Boot to repair diskette and fdisk to clean up and format c: /s and can boot to the c drive. Now to reboot to cd and load XP.
