We have Exchange 2000 and use a program called POPCon to download our emails.

Is there a way in exchange to block a individual email address from being recevied or forwarded. We have a random hotmail account that emails us at least twice a day with a virus. Although our virus software blocks it, it is very annoying.

Thanks for your help!

You want to block an individual address to block a random address? That does not make much sense? If the answer is here, mark it, others can benefit from it too. If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

When i say a random email address, i mean i do not recognise it e.g. not work related and has never mailed us before.

I will try brontosaurus suggestion.

Thanks

A, that's better.
You can filter but if you are going to limit your server to only 'known' addressess, bare in mind that no-one new will ever be able to mail you afterwards and for new contacts, you will always have to add them to the filters.
Mayb you should just block Hotmail and tell those few that use it to change it. If the answer is here, mark it, others can benefit from it too. If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.
