Hi.

I'm running a 110 block for my nortel system.

I didn't actually install this item and i'm quite new to phone syestems in general. I know a lot about cabling since I've been a network engineer for the past 5 years.

For some reason the top half of the block works, I've connected phone around my office to the top half, now that we've got more employees starting with us, the lower half doesn't seem to be working.

I'm not sure how to fix this.

Can anyone help? If need be I can take a picture a post it on here.

what type of norstar system? Follow the cable on the 110 to see where it goes, it needs to connect to an amphenol on the KSU that supports stations.

It's a Nortel Compact Plus. The main power to the block comes from the nortel box.

on a compact ICS only 1 cable has phones on it. so it sounds like your block is ok. I dont remember how many phones it can have, maybe 24 with expanded software keycode?

I think you're right. I remember that there can only be 24 phones. I'm pretty sure I'm only running 15 right now. How do I get the expanded software for this?

you need to talk to a vendor, im not sure its available anymore. but someone may have ti laying around.

You need the card to go in the KSU next to the two trunk cards to give you the last for extensions.

I know I need a new card to get these extensions now. Where can I purchase one from?

The top half of your 66 will be pairs 1-25, even with an expansion card you will only need those. The second set of 66 must go somewhere else? The CICS can either handle 8 or 16 sets. I priced an expansion card a few months ago, $500 new in Canada. My supplier did not have a used one.

Mountainbear, he is not using 66M blocks! He is using a 110 Cross-connect system!

jenglish1984,

Check with metrolinedirect.com, they have the CICS software 7.1 SP cards for a very reasonable price, and I have had good results with them.
