Hello Guys

I have a doubt.
A customer have an IPO 500v2 R8, he needs the volume control on 1608 phones to be blocked to an user access or change it.
I had looked on 46xxsettings.txt and try to change some parameters, but any of this alterations worked.
Does anybody have an ideia of how to active this function?
Is it possible to do?

tks!

can't be done

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

Diego, I don't think you can disable the button entirely, but you can prevent the user for muting it.

In 46xxsettings.txt find SET AUDASYS 3 and change it to SET AUDASYS 1

You might also have to disable the MENU on the Phone, find "SET OPSTAT 111" and change it to "SET OPSTAT 000" (or any other code that you might find suitable for your needs, 000 disables all menu options)

Kind regards

Gunnar

in a former thread we found that firing the first person that does it would help :)

but in my 46xxsettings.txt is
#################### AUDIBLE ALERTING #######################
##
## Specifies the audible alerting setting for the telephone
## and whether users may change this setting.
##
## A value of 0 turns off audible alerting; user cannot
## adjust ringer volume at all.
## A value of 1 turns on audible alerting; user can adjust
## ringer volume but cannot turn off audible alerting.
## A value of 2 turns off audible alerting; user can adjust
## ringer volume and can turn off audible alerting.
## A value of 3 turns on audible alerting; user can adjust
## ringer volume and can turn off audible alerting.
## The default value is 3.
##
## SET AUDASYS 3

Good morning!

Is there an echo here:)

Diego, if this really is an issue, they have an employee problem.
Try the settings file and see if that does it.

A drastic move would be to open the phone and put a piece of electrical tape over the terminal corresponding to the volume button (on the print board). That would inhibit all volume controls together with the settings file.

A third option is to install an external ringer that is super glued to the terminal or triggered by a analogue port.

Kind regards

Gunnar

hey guys.

So, I already tried this changes on 46xxsettings.txt and I showed to the customer, but he doesn't want like this, he wants to block this feature.
Anyway, thanks for your help and tips. :D

Tell the customer these are special order and sell for $500 each then do the tape option :)
Gunnaro has some good ideas there but make the customer pay for it because this is a lot of work to fix a management problem
