I need to block incoming emails from specific senders, I see you can block by domain name in smtp properties but The address im trying to block is a yahoo.com address so I cant do that. any ideas anyone?

I didnt have that key in the registry, maybe it was for ex5.5?

You can block by domain or address... Dan

ESM - Global Settings - Message Delivery (right click - Properties) - Filtering.

Enter the email address here, or optionally, you can block an entire domain using *@domain.com.

I'm going to try this too, I already started copying address over from my "junk senders list" in Outlook to the Exchange server. I just wish there was an easier way to copy and paste all of the addresses at once.

I added all of the domains and e-mail addresses in the filtering tab. However, e-mails from those addresses are still coming through. Is there something else that I need to do? A check box that should or should not be checked? please advise. Thanks.

Yes, I forgot about that.

Open ESM and go to the Properties of your SMTP Virtual Server. Click Advanced, Edit, and then check the box labled "Apply Filter".

Is there a reg key somewhere where I can cut and paste my blacklist in? I know the key for Exchange 5.5 and use it daily, but I am new to Exchange 2000.

This would be stored in AD. You could use ADSI Edit or LPD to locate it but I assume it is under Protocols on the server and then DS2MB gets it to the metabase. If it isn't stored in AD then metaedit is the only hope. I would have to do some ldp dumps to verify exactly what entry it is on. Dan
