I have a machine that has a lot of blank space in the installed programs list, i.e about 3 programs are listed then you have to scroll down a long way to find the rest
Anyone know of a fix for this?

Try running CCCleaner and see what happens. Just back up your registry first (it will prompt you to do this)

Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."

First thing I tried!
But no use, CCleaner (and several other registry cleaning tools) diddnt change this.

You can try this Registry fix.

Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and cycle through each registry key. If an entry has a DisplayIcon string with a "-1" value, set this to "0".

Thanks for that linney

I don't have a lot of time to do this at present but I did find one item with a '-1' after the file path.

Many entries don't have a 'display icon' key at all.
most have a path but no following number (-1 or 0).

I assume that it is these entries that control the uninstall list?

My first thought is to count and note each entry in the list and compare this to what is actually being displayed.
Will that help?

Do you have any more info on how this works?

Cheers again, it seems that one entry with a '-1' was enough to cause the problem and its now fixed.
This machine has Autocad installed as mentioned in the link post. A bug in the installer perhaps?
