Blank lines in memo field

I've got report that contains six memo fields (data type cannot be changed), and each of these fields contains blank lines. How can I get rid of these blank lines when I run the report?

just click on that filed and select suppress blank

and do the same in the format section supress blank

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, this is a MEMO field, and that's what is causing the problem. There is no "suppress blank line" option for a MEMO field. And I don't believe a formula for doing this can be used on a memo field.

It depends on which version of Crystal Reports you are using. I have no trouble with memo fields in version 9. I use this feature all the time (e.g., suppress if {form.memofield} = ""). That's the improvement for me in version 9, the capacity for including memo fields in formulas, being able to search for keywords in memo fields, etc.

Hi,
Try inserting a Text box and placing the memo field in that. Format the text box to supress blank lines.

No sure it will work, since it is used mainly to have a varying # of lines on a mailing lable, but might be worth a try.
